Oh No, Mr. Bill!

By June 17, 2015February 3rd, 2020No Comments

Tropical storm Bill made landfall yesterday morning on Matagorda Island, Texas and there’s  no doubt about it- Bill is definitely the rainmaker they predicted.  Although the system was downgraded early this morning, it will continue to drop huge amounts of rain over the next few days as it creeps further inland.

Heavy rains from Bill, combined with record setting rainfall last month are creating a dire situation in many parts of  Central Texas. Still reeling from flooding last month which killed 20, destroyed homes and flooded vehicles, residents in these areas are watching this system very closely. Reservoirs are at capacity, rivers are cresting and the ground is so saturated there’s no where for the water to go. Much of north and central Texas will receive moderate to heavy rainfall today, with areas west and southwest of Houston receiving the heaviest rain. Across the state, more than 25,000 customers were without power this morning.
