Wild Winds

The Great Lakes region was ravaged by a severe high winds last week cutting power to over 1 million people, downing trees and causing widespread property damage.

Peak winds across the region:
-Rochester, NY: 81 mph
-Youngstown, OH: 70 mph
-Saginaw, MI: 68 mph
-Detroit Metro Airport: 68 mph


Winter storm Stella blasted the Northeast this week leaving over 50,000 people without power, up to three feet of snow in some places and at least 16 deaths.

Top snow totals:
-New York- 42 inches, West Winfield
-Pennsylvania- 34.5 inches, Oakland
-Massachusetts- 21.5 inches, Granville
-New Jersey- 20.3 inches, Vernon
