First Landfalling Tropical Storm of 2015

By May 11, 2015February 3rd, 2020No Comments

TS Ana made landfall yesterday morning roughly between Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Winds from Ana peaked around 60 mph and top rainfall totals were in North Myrtle Beach at around 6 inches.  By yesterday afternoon the system was downgraded to a tropical depression and it will continue to weaken as it move from eastern North Carolina through southeast Virginia today. More rain is expected through the day for those areas. Ana is the second earliest landfalling tropical storm on record in the Atlantic.

Elsewhere over the weekend… Plains states saw a bit of everything from snow and tornadoes to flooding and hail. Crazy spring weather!

More severe storms are expected today for much of the U.S.
